Marven and the Great North Woods

HELLO BOYS AND GIRLS!!

How was the story on "Marven and the Great North Woods"? I hope you found it interesting and meaningful to read. In fact, this is a very well written book and it has won the 'National Jewish Book Award'!!

We have done a handful of activities in class and I believe that each of you must have learnt something.

Now, I would like to invite all of you to post a simple journal entry. I have posted mine below and you can use it as a guide or example to follow.

PS, I will read through everyone's entries so do remember to do it!!

Have a great weekend ahead!!

Love,

Little Miss Knowledgeable

Miss Knowledgeable reflections on " Marven and the Great North Woods":

#1 I have learnt to appreciate my family and the proper healthcare that Singapore has provided for us. I felt sympathy for Marven when he had to leave his family and work in a logging camp just to escape the influenza.

#2 I learnt that despite being small and young, Marven was very brave and clever in dealing with his ordeal. I would like to learn to be like him!

My Reflections on Wise Wizard Sam's Math Problem

HEY PEOPLE!!

I hope you found the Math lesson interesting and challenging! Thank you for helping Wise Wizard Sam to solve the tough problem and thanks to you, the pool party could commence!!
WELL DONE GUYS!!

Now, I would like to know what each of you have learnt from the lesson. Type them down in point form. You can even add pictures etc to make it look interesting!

Here will be my entry for today!

What I have learnt from today's Math lesson!!

#1: I learnt to use the rate-proportion method! It doesn't matter how much flows in or how much flows out. As long as I find the net change per minute, I am on my way to solve the problem!!

#2: I learnt how to organise my thoughts into a table to use the guess-and-check method!!!

PS,

I will read everyone's reflections. So those who did not do, you will be 'punished' (forfeited!!)

Have a good weekend ahead!!

Love,

Little Miss Knowledgeable

More about Mangroves

Hi People!

Welcome to our class blog! I hope you enjoyed the science lesson we have about the structural adaptations of plants, specifically mangroves. Some of you claimed that you were very touched and motivated by the last part of the video i.e. extension part of the video.

As such, I will post it on YouTube for you people to download and show it to your family and friends. I hope you will spread the important message about conserving our environment at the same time too!!
**The website can be found at the bottom of this entry.

Nevertheless, each of you are to post your journal entry on this blog. These are the points that you have to talk about:

Point 1:

What are the similarities between a mangrove tree and normal potted plant?

Point 2:

What are the special features of a mangrove tree?

Point3:

What are the types of rubbish and how they affect the ecosystem adversely?

P.S Do take this journal entry writing seriously and you will be surprise how much knowledge you will acquire. I will type in my own entry using a new post :)

Have a good weekend ahead!

Love,

Little Miss Knowledgeable
